tourist attractions

day trips by car:

Auschwitz (50 km)

Concentration camp museum Auschwitz (Oswięcim) and former camp Birkenau (Brzezinka) are both worth visiting but cannot be seen as a relaxing outing. The phrase: “lest we forget” is prominently the reason that visitors decide to come and see the reminders of the tragedies that took place here. The museum is open daily from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. During the summer season a bus commutes between the two localities.

Wieliczka saltmine (95 km)

Enjoy some beautiful scenery on your way to what is called one of the world’s most spectacular tourist attractions. Tours in German and English are held at regular hours. Tours in other languages are possible at an extra fee and can be arranged on request. The mine is open daily.

Kraków (90 km.)

Let us supply you with a route description and then take a trip through the beautiful countryside. Your destination is the fascinating city of Krakow. Park your car just outside the Old Town (Stare Miasto). This is surrounded by a ring-shaped park, the Planty and the remains of the city wall: Florian Gate. The Old Town has plenty of historical monuments, for example:
● Cloth Hall (Sukiennice), (left) a 14th century construction designed as a centre for cloth trade.
● St. Mary’s Church, where, for centuries, a bugle-call (hejnal) has been played every hour and which houses Veit Stoss’ gothic wooden altar.
● Collegium Maium is the oldest surviving university building in Poland.
● Barbican bastion built as an additional protection of the Florian Gate.
● Wawel cathedral and castle are silent guardians of a millennium of national history.
● Kazimierz’ Jewish Quarter has benefited from the film Schindler’s List.
